Rob Montgomery ASA, MAAA, is an independent consultant currently working with the SOA Research Institute Catastrophe & Climate Strategic Research Program Steering Committee and sub-committees for Research Selection and outreach, communications, and professional development. Rob coordinates the work of the committees and manages the SOA's Catastrophe & Climate research projects from an SOA staff perspective, as well as has co-authored SOA research reports on extreme weather events and climate risk disclosure. Rob also coordinates the work of the SOA's Societal Purpose Committee which seeks to highlight the ways that the SOA and its members advance the ways in which actuaries can use their skills for the greater public good. Prior to this, Rob worked for 30 years in the Insurance industry in various actuarial roles primarily related to Life and Health, modeling, and asset liability management. Rob is a graduate of The College of Wooster, with a degree in Mathematics.??
