Kurt Guske is SVP, Traditional Life & Annuity Managing Actuary, Fortitude Re, located in Nashville, TN. Kurt specializes in building, managing and valuing life insurance and annuity products with care. He has served 30+ years in direct company product development, marketing and reinsurance company valuation. He now serves Fortitude Re, a newly formed reinsurance company that manages legacy blocks of business.
Kurt has served in the Society of Actuaries’ Product Development Section Council from 2011-2014. He served as co-editor of the section’s newsletter, Product Matters!, from 2011-2019. He has been involved with SoA planning committees including the 2015 Annual Meeting, 2015 Life and Annuity Symposium (LAS), 2014 Annual Meeting, 2014 LAS, 2013 LAS, and 2012 LAS.
Kurt’s other Society of Actuaries experience includes extensive work since 1998 on SoA exam committees, serving as Chair of Exam 8-ILA in 2005-06, and Vice Chair of the Question Writing Committee, Exam 8-ILA and ILA-DP. He currently participates on the ILA Life Product Management (LPM) Exam question writing committee.
