Kelly Hennigan, FSA, CFA has over 25 years of experience in financial services. She is Vice President and head of Investment and Risk Operations at Venerable. Previously, she worked at Voya Financial holding roles across Actuarial Transformation, Insurance Investments, Portfolio Management, and Capital Markets. Prior to Voya, Kelly began her career with Hartford Life's actuarial program.
She received an M.S. in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science and a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Connecticut, and a certificate of completion for Essential Management Skills for Emerging Leaders from the Harvard Division of Continuing Education. She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Kelly received the SOA Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2021, is currently the Chair of the SOA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEIC), and has held many volunteer roles with the SOA over the last 10 years including Chair of the Professional Development Committee (PDC), co-editor for The Actuary Magazine, and Chair of the Leadership & Development Section Council. She also has been involved with Gamma Iota Sigma since 2021, and currently serves on their Board of Trustees as Treasurer. In 2024, Kelly joined the Board of Directors as Treasurer for Avery’s Little Army, a newly formed non-profit organization striving to advance pediatric brain cancer research. Kelly is a frequent conference speaker and authored pieces for industry publications.??
