Teresa Winer has been an actuary working with the Georgia Office of Insurance Commissioner since April 2012, in regulating health insurance and other product filings and is currently on the Board of Insurance Collaboration to Save Lives. Previously, Teresa was Manager at Risk Lighthouse, serving clients and overseeing the development of risk quantification methods for financial services businesses. She has held actuarial roles with J. M. Bragg and Associates, Inc., Chastain Financial Services, Confederation Life, and Life of Georgia. Teresa currently serves on the Non-Guaranteed Elements Work group of the AAA and as a member of the Committee on Education at the Academy. Teresa served as Vice-President on the SOA (Society of Actuaries) Board of Directors 2015-2017; as an SOA Board member 2003-2006, the project oversight group for the ACA@15 project, volunteered at the Fellowship Admissions Course 2012-2018, chaired the Actuary of the Future Section Council and the Personal Actuary Working Group, and served on the AAA-SOA Cancer Claims Cost Table Working Group. Teresa previously served on the AAA's (American Academy of Actuaries) Health Practice International Committee, and Telehealth groups. At the NAIC (National Association of Insurance Commissioners), she has served on the Life Insurance Online Buyers Guide and the Life Insurance Illustration Issues Working Groups. Teresa published several research papers with the SOA and a few books on Amazon, one of which is titled “The Actuarial Diet”. Teresa received several grants from the Actuarial Foundation to coordinate programs, including math clubs and mentoring sessions at W. T. Jackson Elementary School, Sutton Middle School and Reach for Excellence students. Teresa was a Girl Scout leader from August 1999-2009. She volunteered as a “Big Sister” through United Way from 1981 - 1990 and still keeps in contact with her “Little Sister”. Teresa and her family hosted foreign children in Atlanta through Childspring International and through “AMIS”, i.e. American Ministry with International Students.?????????
