This POG role supports the research activities of the Women’s Longevity research project sponsored by the Mortality and Longevity Research Program Steering Committee. The project will help to provide actuaries with valuable up-to-date information on female mortality, mortality improvement, and longevity trends and the factors impacting them, enabling actuaries to make more informed and accurate decisions. 

Responsibilities & Duties

Provide guidance in the form of experience, expertise and knowledge for a study that will provide insights into current and future women's longevity trends as well as implications. Project Oversight Group will develop project scope, materials to hire researchers, and set expectations in collaboration with researcher. Review draft material and provide feedback to researcher and advise on appropriate forms of dissemination of the results. 

Time Commitment

  • 21 to 40 hours

Research project normally lasts 6-9 months. Time commitment and number of hours 3- hours per month for a six to nine-month period including 1-hour conference calls.

Experience Required

  • Member ASA or FSA
  • Mortality, longevity experience
