The Predictive Analytics and Futurism Section is creating a set of journey maps that detail the best resources available and recommend in what order to take these courses to learn critical new skills and progress from a beginner to an expert. This will ensure that actuaries are leveraging the best resources available and are well positioned to drive value across organizations.
We are looking for volunteers that can help us determine the most appropriate resources for all levels for the below advanced programming topics.
- Version Control - management and tracking of changes to source code, also known as revision control or source control
- Operating System (OS) Considerations – programming considerations related to choice, design, and implementation of the operating system
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) – practices to ensure that code and any related resources are placed into a shared repository at regular intervals of time and that software updates are built automatically, tested, and made ready for release
- Other Advanced Programming Topics
Responsibilities & Duties
This volunteer role will be on a subcommittee for developing journey maps for actuaries. One of the key responsibilities will be to document resources that help individuals of all skill levels (beginner, intermediate and expert) specific to advanced programming topics. The volunteer will work with the subcommittee to create the journey maps.
Time Commitment
- Up to 40 hours
- Approximately 4+ hours of work/month
