This role supports the education and credential activities of the SOA, continually developing pertinent content, both foundational and advanced, to ensure the integrity of the SOA’s credentials.
Responsibilities & Duties
The SOA is seeking actuaries to write questions for the ERM exams that are offered twice each year.
The responsibilities and duties will include:
- Draft and revise, as needed, high quality questions for the ERM Extension Exams
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the SOA Education Confidentiality Agreement
- Opportunity to assist with grading ERM exams
Time Commitment
- 21 to 40 hours
- 20-40 hours from June through January
Experience Required
- Must be an FSA
- ERM job responsibilities and/or familiarity with ERM concepts is helpful
Opportunity Location
Travel Required
- For those located in the US or Canada, travel to Item (Question) Writing Training preferred
- Candidates with high quality questions may be invited to attend a meeting to assist with exam development
SOA Training Required
Item (Question) Writer Training will be provided
