The student research case study challenge develops future actuaries around the world at the university level. The case study challenge team is a mix of actuaries in academia and business from around the world who develop and judge research case study submissions from small teams of university students from around the world.
Responsibilities & Duties
Help to develop a case study and accompanying data from Sept-Dec. Judge student submissions during 3 rounds of judging that span 5-6 weeks in the spring, typically mid-late March to late April or early May.
Time Commitment
61-80 hours
September through January: weekly 1-hour team calls (or participate via email), and 1-2 hours between calls in some weeks, but not all weeks, to prepare for the next weekly call.
March-April: judge submissions in 3 rounds of grading. Final round is 6 finalist teams doing 1-hour presentation and Q&A of their work via web conference, which are recorded for judges unable to participate live.
