How does this role benefit the work of the organization and the profession? *

A goal of the SOA is to prepare actuaries to be business leaders who leverage data, technology, & Judgement to create responsible risk solutions. This role will help develop curriculums and create relevant content in the form of videos and courses for our Professional Development Edge+ product to assist actuaries in becoming experts in this field.

Responsibilities & Duties *

Curriculum Developer: Reviewing and creating curriculums in various learning tracks desired by actuaries to be successful. Role will include reviewing content on our Professional Development Edge+ product to assure it meets quality criteria, identifying gaps in current curriculums, & making recommendations on filling these gaps.

Content Creator: Working on content creation including videos, webinars, podcasts, courses and conference sessions. Specific tasks include presenting on topics, reviewing potential material, writing scripts for videos, and assisting with implementation of content.

Volunteers have the option to assist in a variety of the duties above or specialize in one of the duties within the volunteer group.
