How does this role benefit the work of the organization and the profession?

This role supports the engagement and education of the profession at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) in Washington D.C. Through educating potential influencers for students, we hope to spread awareness of the profession and increase pipeline efforts.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Set up tabling material (Depending on day assigned)
  • Interact with attendees, answering questions about profession and encourage student interest/engagement in the profession.
  • Break down of table at the end of the event. (Depending on day assigned)

Time Commitment

  • 5-10 hours----October 25-27th
  •  Hours as follows:

    Oct 25: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM (move in from 8-3pm, tabling from 4-6)
    Oct 26: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
    Oct 27: 9:00 AM - ~6:00 PM

Experience Required

ASA or FSA

U.S. Only

Travel Required

  • Washington D.C
  • Will compensate for up to one hour of travel away.

SOA Training Required

  • There will NOT be any SOA staff present at the event.
