How does this role benefit the work of the organization and the profession?
This is a joint venture led by the American Academy of Actuaries, which includes:
  • a liaison from each of the five U.S.-based actuarial organizations.
  • a liaison or the chair of the ASB , ABCD, Joint Committee on the Code of Professional Conduct; and the chairperson of the Committee on Qualifications.

The goal of APLC is to receive input and discuss the professionalism issues that impact all five U.S.-based actuarial organizations while including liaisons from the professionalism bodies housed within the structure of the Academy. This specific liaison role would bring ideas and topics of interest from the SOA to the APLC and bring back information to the SOA based on Professionalism issues and discussions conducted by the APLC.

Responsibilities & Duties
Serve as a conduit between the SOA and APLC and bring input to the APLC and provide a stronger connection back to the various organizations involved.
