Responsibilities & Duties

The Smaller Insurance Company Section is looking for a co-chair to work closely with another experienced volunteer in order to coordinate moderators and speakers for sessions for the Life and Annuity Symposium on behalf of the Smaller Insurance Company Section.

Program coordinator will be required to perform the following:

  • Attend program committee meetings – generally about 4
  • Assist in the slotting of sessions for the program
  • Assist in identifying potential sessions to submit for consideration to the LAS Program committee. Generally 3 sessions and joint breakfast with the Financial Reporting section.  There is assistance by Chair and Vice Chair and other Section members.
  • Assist in recruiting speakers and moderators and coordinating sessions, if needed. 

Time Commitment

  • 10–15 hours
  • Depending on the amount of coordination needed. 

Experience Required

No formal experience required but familiarity with small company issues is helpful.  Both SOA members and non-members may apply.
