The Society of Actuaries (SOA) is partnering with LIMRA to study the current state and future opportunity of the retirement market in Latin America (in this context defined as Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico and Peru). The broad objectives of this research are to understand Latin America consumer attitudes and related behaviors with respect to:
o Retirement goals and objectives
o Retirement savings including access to retirement-income systems
o Perceptions of retirement risks
o Financial product ownership including insurance products
o Use of financial institutions and advisors
o Awareness of retirement options
o Perceptions of recent reform and impact on retirement
o Other retirement-related issues including retirement gap analysis
Responsibilities & Duties
Participate in the Project Oversight Group for this research project by reviewing survey concepts, recommending ideas and questions using knowledge of Latin America markets, reviewing the results, and helping provide context to the final report.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 1 - 2 hours per month for a 12-month period.
- Most time will be spent reviewing work done by the research and providing feedback by e-mail and monthly conference call.
