The Society of Actuaries Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee is made up of individuals that are interested in creating and maintaining a focus on diversity efforts towards increasing diversity within SOA membership and candidate pipeline. Members would work on creating strategic approaches to increasing equity, inclusion, and diversity, develop short- and long-term goals with metrics for success, and advise on DEI strategy.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Identify and work with leading D&I subject matter experts including but not limited to SOA and CAS members, candidates, and employers, to advise on D&I strategy;
• Advise on best practices regarding the monitoring of candidate, member, and leadership demographics related to diversity;
• Provide oversight and reporting of the actuarial profession’s inclusion and diversity activities to members, candidates, and the Board.
• Track and report on member demographics related to diversity to members, candidates and report findings to the SOA Board ;
Support in research and implementation programs, and campaigns through working groups and staff.
Time Commitment
21 to 40 hours; Monthly 1.5-hour calls, in addition to subgroup calls and project planning/implementation
