This role supports the education and credential activities of the SOA, continually developing pertinent content, both foundational and advanced, to ensure the integrity of the SOA’s credentials.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Write 3 to 5 exam questions twice a year for item review meetings
- Review 30 items for accuracy twice a year to prepare for item review meetings
- Assist with editing items to improve clarity and improve candidate exam experience
Time Commitment – Description
- Time commitment is 41 to 60 hours
- Attend two 1.5-day meetings (Friday/half day Saturday, typical schedule is May/December)
- Item writing assignments are delivered in January and July with 10 to 12 weeks to complete.
- Item review packets are delivered in April and October with typically 4 weeks to complete
Experience Required - Description
- FSA with experience in IFM materials
- Compliant with SOA Conflict of Interest policy and Confidentiality Agreement
- Familiarity with course of reading and nature of SOA examinations.
