The MLPSC guides the Mortality and Longevity Strategic Research Program for decision-making and implementation of projects in support of the goals of the SOA, its members and stakeholders.
Responsibilities & Duties
The MLPSC is primarily responsible for charting and developing an overall structure for the projects supporting the Program. The PSC will be involved in the initiation of project ideas and will delegate the management and oversight of individual projects to groups, such as Project Oversight Groups (POGs) or Experience Study Committees. Duties include overseeing a dedicated budget, setting a research agenda for the Program, prioritizing and overseeing idea selection, to name a few.

Time Commitment - Description *
Time commitment includes monthly 1-hour calls and potentially volunteering for Committee subgroups and Project Oversight Groups. There will be reading/reviewing of materials to prepare for the calls.

Experience Required - Description
Experience and subject matter expertise consistent with a research focus is preferred. It is beneficial, although not required, that MLPSC members have previous experience with various types of SOA research. At least one position is preferred to be a volunteer with individual life insurance carrier experience.
