How does this role benefit the work of the organization and the profession? *
|
To identify systematic bias in insurance, retirement and financial services and products, this research project will look at an entire product value chain. For example, an insurance product chain includes product conceptualization, target market identification, pricing, underwriting, distribution, claims administration, and perhaps others. Where is the systemic bias? Where are we “losing populations?” How do we get to the mass market? Access to the internet? Employer worksite products? Distributions channel, agents, do they look like me? Cultural barriers make insurance less attractive to some groups. How is the product presented to different potential buyers? For example, focus on funding college rather than paying a benefit.
