The role of the Joint Risk Management Research Team is to serve actuaries working in risk management related areas by initiating research projects to better equip them for the challenges of their daily responsibilities and keep them on the leading edge
Responsibilities & Duties
Attend and participate in periodic conference call meetings. Provide guidance in the form of insights, experience, expertise and knowledge. Oversee a research budget, garner, brainstorm, vet and prioritize potential research ideas. Identify those research ideas to pursue. Chair or serve on the Project Oversight Groups assembled to implement Team decisions.
Time Commitment
- 11 to 20 hours
- This research team member would usually serve one to two years or more if desired. Time commitment and number of hours 1-2 hours per month for reviewing projects include 1-hour conference calls.
Experience Required
- Member, Non-Member or Candidate
- Risk Management experience. Does not have to be a member of the SOA, could be CAS or CIA as well
