The Actuarial Society of Greater New York (ASNY) will be hosting a candidate and student actuarial career fair. As a sponsor of the event, the SOA is looking for local actuaries to connect with the students and to answer their questions on membership and opportunities.
Responsibilities & Duties
Volunteers will be asked to talk one-on-one with candidates and students in an exhibit hall environment on October 7, 2018. Questions will range from the ASA exams to obtaining a job in the industry. Materials and handouts will be provided to give to interested students.
Time Commitment
- 5–10 hours
- The career fair portion of the event will run from 12-5pm. Set up is scheduled for 10:30-11:30am at New York Marriott Downtown Hotel, 85 West Street, New York, NY.
Experience Required
- Member ASA or FSA
- Familiarity with the ASA exams and obtaining an actuarial position. Knowledge on the advantages and opportunities available as a SOA member.
