Responsibilities & Duties

The Investment Section produces two issues per year of their section newsletter, Risk and Rewards.  They are looking for individuals to assist with reviewing and editing submitted articles for one issue only per year.  Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Review articles for accuracy and relevancy, ensuring articles are written in a clear, easily understandable manner
  • Determine order of articles within the newsletter
  • Work with SOA legal staff to ensure there are no anti-trust violations within articles
  • Work with SOA editorial staff to meet all review and publishing deadlines

 Time Commitment

  • 20–25 hours per issue
  • Work is labor intensive during a short period of time leading up to the print deadline
  • Prefer a commitment to this role for a period of 3-5 years

 Experience Required

  • Must be ASA or FSA
  • Must be a member of the Investment Section
  • Fluency in English language – writing and grammar
  • Good time management skills; ability to work under tight deadlines at times
