How does this role benefit the work of the organization and the profession?
The Society of Actuaries is committed to increasing diversity in the profession and, in partnership with the Casualty Actuarial Society, sponsors many initiatives to promote actuarial science to minority high school students. One of these initiatives is the United State Hispanic Leadership Institute National Conference, held in Chicago this year. http://ushli.org/national_conference.html
As part of our sponsorship, we have a table at an upcoming career fair, and we’re looking for volunteers to speak to students about the actuarial profession and scholarships that are available on BeAnActuary.org.
