How does this role benefit the work of the organization and the profession?
This role supports the engagement and education of the profession at the Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (oSTEM) in Boston, MA. We hope to spread awareness of the profession and increase/diversify pipeline efforts by educating potential student influencers, and students.
This conference is a space for LGBTQ+ students and professionals in STEM fields to share their experiences and learn from one another. Programming ranges from how to create safer spaces to talk about queer issues to discussions about the latest in research conducted by current oSTEM members. oSTEM is a space that celebrates being one's authentic LGBTQ+ self/ally within STEM.
