The Retirement syllabus committee is looking for volunteers to develop formal structure and content for a new FSA-level module on pension projections (forecasts).
Responsibilities & Duties
- Work as a group to develop a formal Training and Design Report (TDR) which outlines the topics that the module will cover and the source material for those topics;
- Work in pairs to choose a specific topic within the module and, for that topic, develop specific module content and end-of-module examination questions/solutions; and
- Work in pairs with the Society of Actuaries to oversee the building of the portion of the module for the chosen topic and test that portion of the module before it’s released to candidates.
Time Commitment
- 81 to 100 hours
- Work will begin in early 2018, developing specific content in late 2018 and early 2019, and finalize the module for release in 2020.
- Expect to spend 100 to 200 hours over the span of the two year project.
- This commitment includes conference calls and face-to-face meetings as needed
Experience Required
- Member ASA or FSA
- Must either be FSA with practical and/or theoretical experience in the development, implementation and presentation of the pension projections.
- Experience taking FSA level modules preferred.

Attend one on-site meeting. This only applies to volunteers located in North America. No volunteers outside of North America will attend these meetings.
