This role supports the community building activities of the SOA, providing actuaries with the opportunity to connect with thought leaders and aspiring thought leaders.
Responsibilities & Duties
The primary function of a subgroup steering committee member is to identify speakers and develop or solicit topics for content related to the subgroup’s topic. Steering committee members should be aware of current topics of interest and recent research that may be of interest to the broader community. The Commercial Group Health Actuarial Subgroup provides a dedicated forum for actuaries to engage in discussions on key topics related to employer-sponsored health plans. It serves as a platform for actuaries to exchange insights, explore emerging trends, and discuss actuarial considerations in areas such as pricing, risk management, and plan design innovation. While the discussions will cover a broad range of employer health insurance topics, this subgroup will not focus on small group ACA markets. All discussions will adhere to SOA’s anti-trust policies, ensuring a professional and compliant exchange of ideas.
