Responsibilities & Duties
The SOA is conducting a job analysis project to identify the skills needed by actuaries in the fields of Health; Life; Investments; Retirement and ERM. As part of the process, a brainstorming survey has been issued to all active FSAs with a designated primary area of practice in one of those five fields. For the validation phase of the project, the SOA is seeking FSAs who are currently working in Health, Investment, Life, Retirement, Risk Management/CFE these practice areas.
Selected volunteers will be seated in one of five subgroups, one for each practice area. The subgroups will be asked to validate the statements collected through the survey as well as review and validate the resulting mapping for the designated practice area. The FSA mapping project will run February to April. All of the work will be managed by our consultant partner, Monar Consulting.
Selected volunteers will each receive the following for their participation in the project:

Time Commitment
- Two 60-90-minute virtual meetings; one in mid- to late February and again in March
- Some email follow-up and review of materials in between calls
- No more than 10 hours total
Experience Required
- Must be FSA currently employed in one of the five practice areas listed above
