How does this role benefit the work of the organization and the profession?
This role contributes to enhancing SOA’s presence within the IAA and the broader global community, adding to the strategic priority of becoming a global organization. The delegate will actively engage in the work and projects carried out by the forum. This active representation contributes to SOA’s global exposure and ensures it is up to date on critical knowledge in the field.  By fostering collaboration with the IAA on committees, forums and task forces the SOA helps advance the actuarial profession, deepens knowledge, and supports actuaries in a rapidly evolving environment.
 
Responsibilities & Duties
This delegate volunteer role is to represent the SOA in the Data Analytics Forum. The responsibilities and duties of the forum are:
  • Provide a discussion platform for Full Member Associations to exchange knowledge, discuss the latest developments, and learn from one another.
  • Identify and inform the Advance Committee of current and evolving activities and opportunities of strategic relevance to the global actuarial profession.
  • Recommend potential projects to the Advance Committee for consideration.
  • Serve as a ready pool of resources to draw on, when needed, for relevant IAA activities.
  • Be a source of information about Member Association activities.
 
Time Commitment/Hours
11-20 hours

The forum meets virtually for 1 hour on a monthly basis.
 
Experience Required - Designation
Member ASA or FSA
 
Experience Required - Description
The delegate must have deep understanding of the evolving industry landscape and extensive knowledge of the data/predictive analytics.
