Responsibilities & Duties

There are multiple positions open for presenters and moderators at the 2017 SOA Annual Meeting.  Please see the Annual Meeting Call for Presenters webpage for details about the sessions that are recruiting.  Once you have identified a session that interests you, please apply to this opportunity and list the session titles and numbers on the application form.

Requirements for these opportunities:

  • Must be subject matter expert in the session topic
  • Must be able to travel to meeting location

Responsibilities and Duties for Presenters:

  • Provide knowledge of late breaking trends on pertinent topics
  • Be a reliable source of knowledge and information on specific subject matter
  • Develop presentation materials, if needed
  • Be capable of handling questions and feedback from audience members
  • Possess ability to professionally present information in front of a large audience of your peers

 Responsibilities and Duties for Moderators:

  • Ability to present in front of a large audience of your peers
  • Be capable of coordinating questions and feedback from audience members with presenter(s)

Time Commitment

  • 11-20 hours for presenters, less for moderators
  • Depending on the subject matter and the time needed to develop the materials for the session, the time commitment may be more or less than listed above.
