The Entrepreneurial and Innovation Section is coordinating several sessions at the 2019 SOA Health Meeting to be held June 24-26, 2019 in Phoenix, AZ. They are seeking presenters for the sessions listed below.

Title Disruption in Healthcare Claims Management

Description:

Attendees will be exposed to the latest in transformation of healthcare claims management through innovation.  Furthermore, attendees will hear from experts in this area on what they are changing in healthcare claims management and how they are accomplishing this.

 Requirements for this opportunity:

  • Working with some innovative with regard to claims management (i.e. handling claims management within insurance companies or start ups)
  • Health AI as it relates to claims/utilization management

Title

Innovation in Health Insurance Underwriting

  

Description:

Underwriting is one of several areas in the insurance industry being impacted by insurtech. In this session, we will hear from experienced experts in underwriting transformation. Digitization, machine learning and other approaches are among topics to be discussed. 

Requirements for this opportunity:

Seeking perspective those at the forefront of innovation, those implementing and using innovative techniques and processes for underwriting in Health Insurance.  Innovations can include new data and data analysis techniques, uses of predictive modeling, and decision-making processes.  Seeking insight from reinsurers, insurers, TPAs, and Consulting. 

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop presentation materials, if needed
  • Be capable of handling questions and feedback from audience members
  • Possess ability to professionally present information in front of a large audience of your peers 
Time Commitment
  • 11-20 hours for presenters
  • Depending on the subject matter and the time needed to develop the materials for the session, the time commitment may be more or less than listed above.
