Responsibilities & Duties
The role of the Pension Section Continuing Education Team Member includes the following:
- Identify topics of interest in the Pension Section for
- sessions presented at the annual SOA conference (18-20 sessions per conference)
- webcasts provided to pension section members (6-7 per year)
- Help coordinate, find speakers and moderators, and write descriptions for approximately three SOA conference sessions
Time Commitment
- 21-40 hours
- Meet once a month by phone for an hour
- Participate in one all-day virtual/Webex meeting in February for annual planning (6 hours)
Experience Required
- Must be a member of the Pension Section to apply
- Consulting experience in retirement plans is preferred
- Familiarity with either defined benefit or defined contribution plans is fine, and a combination of both is ideal
