Duties & Responsibilities
- This position applies to the following Professional Interest Sections: Investment, Joint Risk Management, Pension, Product Development, Reinsurance
- Suggest content ideas for Section Newsletter articles, Meeting Sessions, Webcasts or Podcasts; if interested in participating more, may assist in the development and execution of suggested content into final format
- Identify key Canadian issues or hot topics of interest to Section membership
- Supply SOA staff or Section Councils with sources, contacts and direction for content
- Offer suggestions for presenters or moderators, if applicable
This volunteer position is responsible for identifying and developing content for publications and presentations that is relevant for Canadian actuaries to help them stay up-to-date on pertinent issues and develop as technical experts, business professionals and leaders. Access to expert information equips actuaries and the organizations they serve to effectively measure and manage risk.
Time Commitment
4 or fewer hours: one time activity
Experience Required
- FSA, ASA, FCIA or ACIA preferred
- Must be subject matter expert in respective field
- Be up-to-date in developments in the related practice area
