Bio

Marcus is a retired pension actuary. His work experience includes 2 years at the Commercial Union Assurance Company, 8-1/2 years at William M. Mercer Limited, 4 years at Martineau Provencher & Associates, 19-3/4 years at Robertson, Eadie & Associates, a firm he co-founded with two other actuaries, and 8+ years as a sole practitioner, providing expert advice in disputes between employees and employers and consulting advice to small and mid-size companies. Marcus has had extensive volunteer involvement with the Society of Actuaries, including two terms on the Society of Actuaries' Board of Directors, terms on two Section Councils (Retirement and Entrepreneurial Innovation) and many years as an Education Committee volunteer. Marcus is Chair of the SOA’s University-Earned Credit Oversight Committee and he is a faculty member for the SOA’s Fellowship Admissions Course. In other volunteer roles, Marcus chaired the Pension Board for the United Church of Canada Pension Plan for 9 years and was on the Pension Committee for the Queen's University Pension Plan for several years.
